More items now available for shopping
The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District in a press release issued here informs the general public that in compliance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and order issued by the Government of Meghalaya. The following of essential goods are allowed for sale throughout the District.
These essential commodities that are permitted to be sold includes, rice, dal( gram dal, turdal (arhar), urad dal moong dal, masoor dal), gur, oil( ground oil mustard oil, vanaspati oil, soya oil, refined oil), onion, potato, salt, sugar, tea, coffee, milk, tomato, wheat (maida, suji, atta), alcohol based floor cleaners, hand sanitizers, liquid soaps, handwash, LPG (Commercial), LPG (Domestic), Mask (2 ply, 3 ply and N95), Petrol, Diesel and S.K Oil.
Other essential items (general) includes medical supplies ( including cough and cold remedies), baby care (infant formula, baby food, diapers , skin care etc), bakery items, baking soda, biscuits, battery cells, beetle nut and beetle leaves, broom, candles, disinfectant, emergency light/torches, exercise books, food supplements, health and nutrition (health food & nutrition drinks), home hygiene and health care, products (toiletries, sanitary, napkins detergents, shaving blades, razors, shampoo), honey, matchbox, mosquito repellents, office stationery items (paper , pens pencils etc including printer cartridges, toners), oral hygiene products(toothbrush, dental , floss etc), pet supplies, senior citizens care items, spices and masalas, surface cleaners, umbrella, raincoat, yeast, fisheries items, fish, seed, rice bran, oil cake, fish seed, fish manure and lime.
In addition, the deputy Commissioner has also permitted selling essential items for animal husbandry and veterinary which includes animal feed and fodder including raw material like maize, soya, eggs, live chicks, meat, milk products (butter, ghee, paneer, curd etc), vaccine & medicine for animals and pets are also permitted to be sold.
Also, selling of Agriculture & Horticulture items is permitted, the items includes bio pesticides, bio fungicides, fruits, vegetables & agricultural products, machineries & equipments- tractor, power tiller, pump set, sprayers, organic manure, farm manure (FYM), vermicompost, bone meal, bio fertilizer, seeds, tools and implements, basket, spades, watering can, falcon tools set, khurpi, etc.
The Deputy Commissioner has also inform that similar arrangement will be made for the days to come and specific instruction will be suitably published well in advance. He also mentioned that adequate stock is available and there is no need to panic and resort to hoarding as will have an adverse impact. DPRO | Khliehriat.
