MPSC’s decision to re-advertise vacancy posts is beginning to prospectively implement roster system: Nongrum
Opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) legislator from North Shillong Adelbert Nongrum on Wednesday lauded the decision of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to re-advertise the 35 posts of Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) in order to prospectively implement the roster system
Nongrum in a statement said that the old advertisement was cancelled after there has been inequality in the distribution of posts wherein 14 posts have been allotted to the Garo community and only 11 for the Khasi-Jaintia people.
“I have raised this issue and question the implementation of the roster system. I was so happy to have seen the new advertisement published by the MPSC which equally allotted 14 posts for each of the Khasi-Jaintia and Garo people,” he said while adding “I believe that the decision to re advertise the posts is just a beginning to streamline the implementation of the roster system in the different departments of the government.”
“I also expect that the MPSC will also consider re-advertising the posts of LDA Secretariat, Veterinary Officer and Junior Divisional Accountant and so on. I also hope that the central recruitment board of the Meghalaya police will also re-advertise the posts of constable in order to ensure the youth are not deprived of their rights,” he said.
