MSCW meets DGP over cases having police personnel as respondents
A delegation of the Meghalaya State Commission for Women on Tuesday called on the state Director General of Police (DGP), R Chandranathan to discuss cases received by the commission in which members of the police force are respondents.
During the interaction, the delegation led by the commission’s chairperson Theilin Phanbuh also suggested that sensitization programmes for police officials should be conducted on a regular basis and necessary steps should be initiated to avert and resolve such incidents.
Addl Director General of Police (L&O/TAP), I Nongrang, who was also present during the discussion, avowed that numerous training programmes pertaining to sensitizing of police force have been conducted in the past, and similar trainings will also be organized in the days to come.
