MSOP Meghalaya to headline virtual international conference on entrepreneurship
IPE Global, Managed Services Operating Partner (MSOP) for Meghalaya State Skills Development Society (MSSDS), Government of Meghalaya under Supporting Human Capital Development in Meghalaya (SHCDM), supported by the Asian Development Bank is going to organize a virtual international conference to highlight the importance of strengthening the local economy through entrepreneurship opportunities.
The event is geared under the banner of “Youth entrepreneurship: A step for re-purposing local development” on June 27th, Saturday at 3 pm (Indian Standard Time). International youth entrepreneurs and community leaders from seven different countries including, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Thailand will participate in knowledge-exchange around importance of youth entrepreneurship amidst COVID-19 and youth as drivers of entrepreneurial activities in their communities, regions, and countries.
The MSOP virtual conference brings international, national and local expertise together to address common challenges. Dr. Shashi Ranjan Jha, Associate Director, Education, and Skills, IPE Global will present the theme while the international participants include Mr. Abesh Adhikari, Managing Partner, Lex Jurist, and youth Mentor, Nepal, Ms.Kokaew Wongphan, Independent researcher, Thaksin University, Songkhla, Thailand, Ms. Haimanti Sarkar, CEO, Peoples Union of the Marginalized Development Organisation(PUMDO), Bangladesh, Ms. Soklin Uy, Co-founder, Gender and Peace Leadership Network, Cambodia, Mr. Tshering D Dorji, Asst. Financial Inclusion and Literacy Officer, Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan, Bhutan, Ms. Aidahun Nongrang, MSOP entrepreneur, Meghalaya, India, and Mr. Chit Ko Ko Oo, Founder, Myittar Resource Foundation (MRF), Myanmar. The event will be moderated by Mr. Rahul Tejwani, Co-founder at Green chutney Films and Kredis, Ahmedabad.
“Such an event where international entrepreneurs share their strategies and stories of resilience, provides an opportunity for learning and better adaption. It also gives me a chance to share my story with a global audience” Said a Meghalaya entrepreneur Ms. Aidahun Nongrang. The prospective virtual conference is getting an incredible response from Meghalaya and other parts of the country as already 300 plus interested people registered so far. Another entrepreneur Mr. Kyntiewlang Kharbuli reiterated that” COVID-19 may mean that for now our physical mobility is restricted, but that doesn’t mean we can’t continue to share the prodigious opportunities in Meghalaya’s diversifying economy.” MSOP project is committed in providing support to Meghalaya entrepreneurs on inception, operation, scaleup, and sustainability through entrepreneurship development activities.
