MSSASA serves 2-month ultimatum to MDA govt to come up with policy to secure services of SSA teachers in Meghalaya
The Meghalaya Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Schools’ Association (MSSASA) on Wednesday served a two-months ultimatum to the state government to come up with a policy to secure the services of SSA teachers.
Speaking to reporters, MSSASA president Aristotle C Rymbai said, “After detailed discussion and deliberation, we have unanimously taken a decision to choose or to opt out of the two issues – enhancement of salary and security of services. We have chosen to put pressure on the government to come up with a policy to secure the services of the SSA teachers in the state of Meghalaya as was done in other states of the country.”
“We have also decided to give two-months ultimatum to the government (to come up with the policy). Within this two months’ time, the education department should complete all the formalities and put up the file to the cabinet for further necessary action from the state government,” he said.
Rymbai said that the association will be left with no option but to organize a democratic movement/agitation if the state government does not heed its demand.
He said that the agenda was taken up in today’s meeting based on the decision taken in the general executive council (GEC) meeting held on September 21, after receiving information from the education department authorities about the government’s move to provide security to the services of the SSA teachers in the state.
“We have also decided to submit to the government our resolution taken in the general council meeting,” the MSSASA president said.
