MSSASA threatens to storm secretariat over non-release of pending salary
The SSA teachers under the banner of the Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) on Tuesday threatened to storm the secretariat if the state government failed to release their pending salary by February 28.
President of the MSSASA Aristotle Rymbai said the decision was taken during an emergent meeting of the association.
“We have decided to call off the non-cooperation movement from today but will wait for the state government to release the pending five month salary,” he said.
The non-cooperation movement was launched on December 21, last year.
“We have decided to give a two-week ultimatum to the state government to release our pending salary by February 28, failing which we will storm the secretariat on March 2,” Rymbai said.
Rymbai said that the MSSA has been demanding for the state government to utilise the additional fund Rs 104 crores to pay the remaining salary. Unfortunately, there was no response from the government till today, he added.
