Mukhnang Lumrot water scheme sanctioned in Feb 2022 but foundation stone laid after 9 months

Water is of utmost importance to human being for his day to day needs but for the people of 14 villages, they have to wait for nine months more for the implementation of a water supply scheme after it was sanctioned.

Though the Greater Mukhnang Lumrot Water Supply Scheme was sanctioned vide AA No.PHE.106/2009/Pt-V(B)/208, Dated Shillong, the 11″ February 2022 for an amount of Rs 46,12,26,350/- (Rupees Forty Six Crore Twelve Lakh Twenty Six Thousand Three Hundred Fifty) only but its implementation nine months later with the laying of the foundation stone by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma at Madan Sari, Namdong on Monday.

This Water Supply Scheme which is pumping in nature will cover 14(Fourteen) numbers of Villages with 2577 numbers of Households.

The name of villages with total numbers of households are Namdong-A 289, Namdong-B 433, Madanrtiang 114, Amjalasiaw 187, Lumrot 105, Thadmynri 301, Kremmyrsiang 206, Ladmyngngor 63, Myngngor 103, Khonsaro 147,  Mukhnang 225, Thadmukoh 149, Pdieniawmusiang 201 and Rikyntein 54.

The water for the scheme is drawn from the Mynriang River. It is flowing by Gravity upto the Treatement Plant at Namdong B Villange. The Treatment Plant included of Slow Sand Filter and Clear Water Reservoir. The total length of the Gravity Main is 7000 Rm which was proposed by DI Pipe 200mm Dia. Treated water from the Treatment Plant can flow by Gravity to all the villages.
