Mukul files complaint against false video
Leader of Opposition and TMC leader Mukul Sangma on Tuesday lodged a complaint against one person for circulating a false, fabricated and malicious video with the aim of tarnishing his image.
In a letter to the returning officer, Sangma said, “A video which is apparently circulating in social media, has been forwarded to me by my party colleagues.
The said video wherein the person not known to me personally but identified as Fourthligh Ch Marak as reflected in the Facebook page of Andresh Chambuong Marak, has alleged me of assaulting him in the early hours of the morning.”
“The allegation in the content is false, fabricated and highly malicious and has badly disturbed my mind and caused immense mental injury,” he said while adding “This malicious content has a serious bearing on my good reputation and can have serious ramification on the outcome of the ongoing by-election for 56-Gambegre (ST) Assembly constituency with further damage to the good reputation that I have built up over the years with hard work, honesty and integrity.”
Further, Sangma demanded that the matter should be immediate investigated as per law.
“This must be investigated immediately as per law and the outcome of the investigation must be made public immediately to prevent further, irreparable damage to my reputation and further action be taken as per law,” he stated in the letter.
