Mukul visits flood affected Rongara-Siju
Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma on Friday visited Rongara-Siju village and extended relief to flood affected residents.
Sangma assured continuous support to households ravaged by flood.
Areas in South Garo Hills have been severely affected by flood, especially along the Indo-Bangladesh Border.
There have been multiple landslides and areas including Maheskola and Siju remain without any road link.
Six bridges, including wooden and suspension bridges, have been washed away with electricity and the network heavily disrupted.
In a statement, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) said Sangma’s visit marks the party’s unfaltering support towards the flood victims, and denotes its pledge to work for the people given rain or shine.
