Musical concert for reaching out electorates of West Jaintia Hills

As part of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Election), West Jaintia Hills District organized a musical concert in the busy thoroughfare of Iawmusiang, Jowai on Monday evening.

The aim of the concert is to educate and motivate the voters to become aware of their right to vote as responsible citizens.

Appealing to the electorates to exercise their adult franchises, Additional Deputy Commissioner MA Challam insisted on being cautious during election time towards the various negative influences in the form of money etc.

He also called for their active participation in curbing these kinds of menaces by mobilizing the Mobile App cVigil provided by the ECI.

The event witnessed a large crowd who passed by the venue and they could be seen dancing to the tune performed by two locals’ bands Nexus and the LYNX.

Other highlights of the event include dance performed by two local artists Lucy and Mynnu and cultural dance by Seinraij Jowai A Special number from the District SVEEP Icon. Paloi, a member of Chiiung.
