  • Narrow escape for a family as house gutted by fire

    In a miraculous incident, a mother and her three children narrowly escaped from blazing fire which engulfed their house while they were sleeping in East Garo Hills District.

    According to police, on Saturday morning around 2:30 am, a fire broke out in the house of Esabela G.Momin (32 yrs) W/O. Late.Dipok Sangma of Dobu Songmu. Accordingly,police team from Dobu OGC rushed to the spot while information was also relayed to Fire Service Williamnagar.

    It is learnt that Esabela G Momin and her three minor children were sleeping inside the room but somehow they could manage to get out of the room. Later, the fire service team arrived at the spot and douse the fire. All the household items have been gutted in a fire but no one injured.

    Approximately Rs 1.5 lac worth property have been damage in the incident. No foul play is suspected as of now and the cause of fire is highly suspected to be due to short circuit . Proper enquiry is being conducted in this connection.
