National Deworming Day to be observe in East Khasi Hills District

With an aim to intensify efforts towards eradicating Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH), the District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills District will observe the National Deworming Day (NDD) Wednesday across the district.

The programme will be held in all the schools (both Government and Private) and Anganwadi Centres.

The objective of the NDD is to deworm all pre-school and school age children between the ages of 1-19 years through the platform of Schools and Anganwadi centres in order to improve their overall health, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life.

The Deworming Day will be followed by a mop-up-day (MOD) on 1st November, 2022 with the intent of deworming children, who missed the dose.
