National Law University: 50 percent reservation for local students
The National Law University, Meghalaya will provide 50 percent of the seats for local students.
This was informed by Prof. Indrajit Dube, Vice Chancellor, National Law University, Meghalaya on Wednesday in a press conference related to admission and course in the university in the presence of Pravin Bakshi, Commissioner and Secretary, Education Department and E Kharumnuid, Registrar, High Court of Meghalaya.
He informed the academic session of the National Law University (NLU) will commence from July this year and the students’ online applications started on April 21 and will end on May 21. The admission test is slated on May 28. The merit list will be published on June 9 and classes will begin July 10.
Prof. Indrajit Dube also informed that for undergraduate courses a total of 60 students will be enrolled, with 20 each in BA LLB, BS LLB and BBA LLB honours and there will be 10 post-graduates students. He mentioned that the annual fee structure for the undergraduate and postgraduate programs is much lower than that of private colleges and universities and other national universities.
Dube informed that 50% of the seats in the university are reserved for the domicile residents of Meghalaya, he urged the students and aspiring lawyers of the state to take advantage of the opportunity and get themselves enrolled.
The course are BA LLB, BS LLB, BBA LLB (all 5 year Dual Degree Law Programmes after Class 12) and Post Graduate Programme in Law [LL.M (Major in Corporate Law)].
