National Lok Adalat settles 287 cases in Meghalaya Districts except for North Garo Hills District
The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority has organised the National Lok Adalat in all the districts of the State of Meghalaya, except North Garo Hills District, Resubelpara, on April 17.
In the National Lok Adalat, 936 Pre-Litigation cases and 572 pending cases were taken up for settlement in the entire state of Meghalaya, except in the North Garo Hills District.
There were 1508 cases that were taken up and there were 287 lawsuits settled for a total of Rs.1,23,52,847.
The National Lok Adalat was organized by Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and under the Patronage of the Hon’ble Mr Justice Biswanath Somadder, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya and Patron-in-Chief of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) and under the supervision of the Hon’ble Mr Justice R. V. More, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya, and Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
