National Voters Day observed in WJH

The 12th National Voters’ Day was observed in Jowai and in 215 polling stations in West Jaintia Hills District on the theme ‘Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative”.

Deputy Commissioner West Jaintia Hills District, Garod LSN Dykes, IAS attended the programme as the Chief Guest in the presence of DD Syngai, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Election), Isagahah Lawrniang, MCS Extra Assistant Commissioner (Election).

The Programme was also attended by the Waheh Shnong of different localities of Jowai town, representatives of different political parties and other invitees from within the district.

DD Syngai, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Election), who chaired the programme gave a brief introductory speech on National Voters’ Day.

As part of the programme, EPICs were also distributed to newly enrolled voters. The District lcon loomainki Garod, the BLO Icon First Joy Lamare (BLO of 46 Saphai Pohrtiang A Polling Station of 4 Mowkaiaw Assembly Constituency) by the Deputy Commissioner West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai.

During the programme, there was also a Prize Distribution to the winners of the Online Video Clip Competition and the Quiz Competition conducted during the Special Summary Revision Period in the month of October 2021

The Programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Isagahah Lawrniang, MCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner (Election) West Jaintia Hills District Jowai.

Earlier, DD Syngai, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Election) West Jaintia Hills District Jowai flagged off the Cycle Rally organized by the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Election) West Jaintia Hills District Jowai in collaboration with the office of the District Sports Officer West Jaintia Hills District Jowai.

The National Voters’ Day Pledge was also read out by all participants before the rally started.
