NEET-UG 2024 candidates in Jowai raise concerns over exam paper mix-up
Candidates appearing for the NEET-UG 2024 examination at the Jowai Centre, St Mary Mazzarello Girls Hr Sec School, in Meghalaya on May 5, conducted by NTA have raised serious concerns regarding the distribution of question papers during the recent examination.
The candidates have highlighted issues concerning the distribution of two sets of question papers, with question paper codes Q, R, S and T and M, N, O and P, which contained entirely different questions. This unexpected distribution of different question papers has led to widespread panic among the candidates.
Expressing their dissatisfaction, the affected candidates are seeking clarification from the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding the rationale behind providing two distinct sets of question papers for the same examination. They are also urging the authorities to determine which set is correct and which is incorrect. Additionally, the candidates are requesting the NTA to consider a re-examination in light of the confusion caused by the distribution of multiple question paper sets.
The candidates have emphasized the need for urgent action and a prompt response from the concerned authorities to address their grievances.
Furthermore, candidates have reported additional irregularities in the examination process. Some candidates have revealed that they were initially provided with one question paper booklet, followed by the distribution of another booklet with a different code. Subsequently, the examiners collected the second booklet, instructing the candidates to only utilize the first one received. Additional concerns have been raised regarding the handling of admit cards, with inconsistencies noted in the collection process across different examination rooms. While some students had their admit cards collected as per the usual protocol, many others were not required to surrender their admit cards before leaving the examination hall, causing confusion and uncertainty among the candidates.
The affected candidates have forwarded their complaints to the NTA, the Education Minister of Meghalaya, the Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills District and the Director of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Meghalaya, seeking swift resolution and redressal of their grievances.
As the NEET-UG 2024 candidates in Jowai await a response from the authorities, concerns persist regarding the integrity and fairness of the examination process, underscoring the importance of addressing these issues promptly to ensure transparency and equity for all candidates.
