NEHARI conducts workshop under Vigilance Awareness Campaign
The North Eastern Hydraulic and Allied Research Institute (NEHARI), in collaboration with the National Water Academy (NWA), Pune, organized a five-day training workshop on “Procurement through GeM, e-Tendering, and Procurement Challenges” from November 4 to 8, aligning with the Vigilance Awareness Campaign.
D.S. Chaskar, Chief Engineer at NWA, inaugurated the workshop virtually, stressing the importance of the GeM platform in enhancing transparency and efficiency in government procurement.
The inauguration included participation from key officials such as G.L. Bansal, Chief Engineer, BBO, CWC Guwahati; D.K. Tiwary, Retired Chief Engineer, CWC; Abhay Kumar, General Manager, Brahmaputra Board; and Dr. Ranjit Deka, Director of NEHARI.
The comprehensive programme included lectures and practical sessions covering procurement processes on the GeM portal, from direct purchases to L1 comparison and bidding. The training also included bill processing via GeM and PFMS portals, BoQ preparation on the CPP portal, and addressed common tendering challenges.
The workshop concluded with a valedictory session led by Dr. Ranbir Singh, IAS (Retd.), Chairman of the Brahmaputra Board, who emphasized that proficiency in e-procurement directly enhances organizational efficiency. Certificates were awarded to 26 participants from various Brahmaputra Board offices, recognizing their successful completion of the training.
