NEHU cancelled foreign trip & postpone half marathon due to COVID-19
The North Eastern Hills University, Shillong has postponed the NEHU Half Marathon scheduled on 21st March this year in view of the contagion COVID-19 besides cancelled all duty leave/Earned Leave sanctioned for foreign travel stand cancelled with immediate effect.
This is according to the notification to all teaching and non-teaching employees that the following precautionary measures should be taken to help in prevention/reduction of the transmission of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Avoid travelling to all foreign countries especially for attending Workshop/ Seminar/ Conference/Symposia etc. and also on personal trip with immediate effect till further order.
Avoid inviting participants/Resource persons coming from outside India.
Any student/staff with travel history to any COVID-19 affected country or in contact with such persons in last 28 days, should be monitored and home quarantined for 14 days.
Faculty should be alert towards any student with sign and symptoms i.e. fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, and should immediately have the student tested till advised by the treating doctor, the student should not join campus.
Faculty staff and students should also be advised about simple public health measures of hand and respiratory hygiene.
Anybody with signs & symptoms (cough, fever ot difficulty in breathing) should contact the Medical Officer, NEHU Health Centre, Permanent Campus, Mawkynroh-Umshing, Shillong – 22.
All duty leave/Earned Leave sanctioned for foreign travel stand cancelled with immediate effect.
All financial assistance sanctioned for attending Workshop/ Seminar/ Conference/Symposia etc. outside India stand cancelled with immediate effect.
