NEHU-JAC to hold protest against move to extend VC’s term

The Joint Action Committee of the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has decided to hold a silent protest in the university campus on September 8.

The JAC comprises the NEHU-Teachers’ Association, NEHU-Non-Teaching Association and NEHU-Students’ Union.

“The JAC has decided to hold a demonstration demanding that the incumbent outgoing Vice chancellor Prof SK Srivastava’s term should not be extended beyond September 23, which is the last day of his term,” JAC chairman Prof XP Mao said in a statement issued on Friday.
