NEIGRIHMS celebrates 100 cr vaccination

North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) was part of Nation-wide celebrations today as India created history by vaccinating more than 100 Crore of its population against the dreaded SARS-CoV-2 virus that has resulted in the Covid-19 pandemic.

India has thus become the only Nation in the world to achieve this laudable accomplishment and that too in such a short time.

Celebrating this momentous occasion NEIGRIHMS, in association with the Bank of Baroda and the Rotary Club of Shillong, commemorated this important milestone in the Main Hospital premises.

Prof. (Dr.) Nalin Mehta, Director NEIGRIHMS, was the Chief Guest at a gala function that was attended by the Network DGM Kolkata Zone Mr. Sonam Tshering Bhutia and Ms. Ailen Diengdoh, Regional Head Guwahati of the Bank of Baroda, members of the Rotary Club of Shillong and the people who contributed to this mammoth task – the Faculty, Resident doctors, Nursing staff and employees of NEIGRIHMS.

The Bank of Baroda, as part of its CSR activity, donated a Basic Life Support Ambulance to the Director of the Institute to mark this momentous occasion, while the Rotary Club of Shillong provided refreshments to all present.
