New association to support Jaintia local artists and filmmakers
The All Jaiñtia Film, Music & Arts Association has been officially formed. The new organization aims to promote the talents and culture of the Jaiñtia community through various artistic endeavours.
The leaders of the association includes Arwotki Sumer as President, Hamran Shylla as Vice President, and Ebormi Muksor as General Secretary. The Joint Secretaries are Daoo hi paia Toi and E Manbha Kynjiñ. Careme Phawa is serving as Publicity Secretary, while Marboon Laloo takes on the role of Finance Secretary. The Auditorial Board consists of Erick Lamare, Sunday Salahe, and Dauru Laoo. Additionally, there are 15 executive members who will support the association’s activities.
The main goal of the All Jaiñtia Film, Music & Art’s Association is to nurture and elevate the artistic talents of the Jaiñtia community. A special focus will be on preserving the Jaiñtia language and culture through films and music. Careme Phawa, the Publicity Secretary, emphasized the importance of this mission and the dedication to fostering a vibrant artistic community.
The association plans to organize various events and initiatives to provide platforms for local artists to showcase their talents, contributing significantly to the cultural and artistic landscape of the Jaiñtia Hills region.
