New MeECL CMD assures to look into grievances of staff
The Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited – Joint Action Committee (MeECL-JAC) has lauded the state government for appointing a senior bureaucrat, Arun Kumar Kembhavi as the new Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of the MeECL.
A delegation of the JAC also met Kembhavi, after he took charge as the CMD.
After the meeting, JAC chairman, PK Shullet told reporters that the appointment of an IAS officer as the CMD of the MeECL, which is the largest PSU in the state, will improve the management of the corporation.
He informed that the CMD has also assured the delegation to withdraw certain orders, which are affecting the employees of the corporation.
“He (Kembhavi) has also assured to look into the various grievances faced by employees including delay in releasing of their salaries,” Shullet said.
On the other hand, JAC secretary, Arju Dkhar said that the CMD has also assured to look into the recent suspension of an engineer of the Myntdu-Leshka Hydro Electric Project (MLHP) M Pohshna without any proper inquiry.
Dkhar said that the JAC has also decided to extend full support and cooperation to the new CMD.
