Newborn dead body recovered in Jowai

On Saturday afternoon, the dead body of a newborn baby was recovered at the premises of the District Home Guard Commandant Office in Ladthadlaboh, Jowai.

According to the residents around the area, the infant’s dead body was found at around 11 am while it was being dragged by stray dogs from a hidden spot covered with mud and stones behind a shed on the premises.

The Jowai Women Police on arriving at the scene confirmed that the newborn was a baby girl and had taken the dead body into their custody for postmortem at Civil Hospital, Jowai.
