Newborn girl abandoned in West Jaintia Hills dies during hospital treatment

Unfortunately, a newborn girl who was abandoned in West Jaintia Hills and despite receiving treatment at the Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Jowai passed away on Saturday at 4:25 Am.

The District Child Protect Officer (DCPO) of West Jaintia Hills District has released a newsletter to inform the public about this incident. The infant baby girl was rescued on June 22, 2023, after being found abandoned in Krem Shohnoh, Mukhla near Ummulong CHC.

The DCPO informed that an inquest and autopsy have been carried out, and currently, the infant’s body is at the Civil Hospital Ialong morgue room.

The DCPO requested that anyone who has relevant details or relatives come forward to claim the infant baby within 7 days.
