Next Assembly session will be held in the new building: Meghalaya Speaker

Assembly Speaker Thomas A Sangma on Monday assured that the next session will be held in the new building of the Assembly at Mawdiangdiang.

“I can assure you that we are trying our best that we will definitely have our next Assembly session there in the new building,” Sangma told reporters.

Stating that the work is going on in full swing, the Speaker said, “As I speak now the preparations are on to start the work for the interior of the main hall.”

He however said that the covering of the dome is taking some time. “…the crown or the top which will be ornamental that has to be lifted up as it weighs almost 2 metric tons,” Sangma added.
