NGH DC seeks report into alleged involvement of GHADC chief in illegal mining & transportation of coal in GH

The Deputy Commissioner of North Garo Hills Mitali Chandra has sought a report into alleged involvement of the Chief Executive Member of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council Albinush R Marak in non-stopping illegal mining and transportation of coal in Garo Hills.

Chandra has asked the Superintendent of Police, North Garo Hills, Divisional Forest Officer (T) of East and North Garo Hills, Divisional Mining Officer of East and North Garo Hills and Block Development Officer of Resubelpara to verify and submit a report on the matter before May 26.

In her letter, Chandra said, “With reference to the subject cited above, I am forwarding herewith copy of the letter under reference received from A Kharshiing, Under Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Mining and Geology department, Shillong and the enclosure therewith, regarding the complaint against illegal transportation of coal alleging involvement of the present CEM of GHADC.

In this regard, you are hereby requested to verify and submit the report on the matter to the undersigned on or before May 26, positively.”
