NHRC directed MHA to take appropriate actions on cross border murder
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Thursday directed the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to take appropriate action on the cross border murder case of Sylvanus Dhar by Bangladeshi intruders.
The direction was passed by the NHRC on the basis of a complaint filed by Kynjaimon Amse an advocate from East Jaintia Hills District on January 22nd this year.
After examining the complaint lodged by Amse, the NHRC disposed off the case on Thursday with a direction to the Union Home Ministry to take appropriate action within a period of 8 weeks.
The NHRC has also directed the Home Ministry to intimate the complainant about the action taken on the matter as complaint.
It may be recalled that on 6th of January this year at Balisar, Lumsoskie village, Umkiang, East Jaintia Hills District around 15-16 Bangladeshi entered Indian territory with an intention to commit theft of betel nut inside the Indian territory.
