NLFB a Boro militant outfit looting petrol pumps in Meghalaya
The arrest of the five armed robbers led to the startling revelation of the involvement of the dreaded National Liberation Front of Boroland (NLFB) in the looting of the four petrol pumps in the State of Meghalaya.
According to police sources, Jyotish Diamary one of the five persons arrested by East Jaintia Hills police is top brass leader of the National Liberation Front of Boroland (NLFB) and he is the mastermind behind the looting of the petrol pumps for amassing funds for the outfits.
Daimary was earlier arrested from Amlarem area in West Jaintia Hills District on April, last year
Notably, according to SP East Jaintia Hills District, five persons namely Jyotish Daimary, Sansoma Mooshahary, Shankar Boro, Bipul Basumatry, and Fajal Haque were arrested from their hideout in Ryngsong Shylla near Umlawang village, East Jaintia Hills District on intervening night of 11/12th March, this year.
They are arrested for their involvement of looting of two petrol pumps in Khliehriat in January this year. Khliehriat PS Case No. 02(01)2022 U/S 392 IPC and Khliehriat PS Case No.03 (01)2022 U/S 392 IPC were registered.
One AK-47 rifle, fourteen (14) live rounds of AK series ammunition, machetes, one motor cycle B/R No. AS 27 D 2482 and several other incriminating materials were seized from their possession.
They are involved of looting of petrol pumps in Shillong and Ri Bhoi District also.
