No communication on extension of KHADC house term says Pyniaid Sing Syiem
KHADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem on Wednesday said the term of the current House in the Council will only be extended if the Centre passed the amendment of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India.
However, there is no communication received to indicate that there is any move to extend the term of the current House, Syiem told reporters.
“The House will be extended only if the Sixth Schedule amendment is passed by the Centre because the numbers of seats (in the three ADCs) will be increased. But till today there has been no such communication on this matter,” he said.
“Therefore, we feel that the election to the KHADC will still be held in 2024,” he added.
