No delay in teachers appointment: Rymbui
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said there is no delay in the filling up vacancies of teachers in the various lower primary schools across the state.
He was reacting to the recent allegation made by the Leader of Opposition (LO) Mukul Sangma that the state government has delayed the process of appointment.
“The state government has never ever delayed the appointment of any vacant posts in the LP schools as stated by the LO. So, I think whatever allegation or statement given by the LO is totally wrong and not based on facts,” Rymbui told reporters.
He informed that the process of appointment of about 1,000 plus teachers is going on in almost all the districts except in East Khasi Hills which interview is still going and Dadenggre subdivision, which MTET examination will have to be reconducted.

“We are alive with the situation and all the posts will be filled up in due course of time,” the minister also assured.
Rymbui said it was last year that the state government had decided to fill up all vacancies and had conducted the Meghalaya Teachers’ Eligibility Test (MTET) as per NCTE norms.
