No Entry and One Way impose in Jowai on polling day

Superintendent of Police for West Jaintia Hills District on Tuesday issued traffic arrangements in light of the ongoing General Lok Sabha Election, 2024 and to ensure the free movement of the polling parties from their respective polling stations on the 17th & 18th April, 2024 and subsequently, for the smooth flow traffic/vehicles on the 19th April, 2024, (voting day), the following Traffic arrangements are made for the smooth flow of Traffic.

On April 17th and 18th, 2024, starting from 8:00 AM onwards:

Entry is prohibited at DC Junction towards Jrisalein Ground.

Entry is prohibited at HK Singh Junction towards Jrisalein Ground.

The entire stretch from Jrisalein towards DC Junction will be designated as ONE-WAY.

On April 19th, 2024, starting from 3:00 PM onwards:

Entry is prohibited at Thomas Jones Junction towards D.C Office.

Entry is prohibited at Tpep-Pale towards Iawmusiang.

Entry is prohibited from Mission Compound road towards Iawmusiang/D.C Office.

Entry is prohibited at H.K. Singh Tri-Junction towards D.C Office.

Entry is prohibited at Dawki Stand towards D.C Office.

All vehicles approaching from Riatsiatsim side will be redirected towards Mynthong (Dist. Library Side).

All vehicles approaching from Khimmusniang/Jrisalein side will be rerouted to Chutwakhu road.

All vehicles approaching from New Hill side/Shillong road will be redirected to Kynruh Saphlang and Thomas Jones.

On April 19th, 2024, all four parking lots at Iawmusiang will be cleared starting from 2:00 PM onwards.
