No scam in COVID-19 testing: DHS
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War on Wednesday reiterated that there is no scam regarding the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the state.
“There is no scam or hanky-panky with regards to the number of positive cases in the state,” Dr War said.
He said there are many allegations like if you take patients to the hospital, they will be tested positive for COVID-19.
Refuting this, Dr War said there are many patients who had gone to the hospital but were not found positive for the virus.
“Therefore, we from the health department and the government are trying our level best to ensure minimum people are infected by the virus. Right from the frontline workers and all involved, we are fighting hard to contain the disease,” he said.
The senior medical officer also said that the health authorities are studying the behavior of the virus especially on asymptomatic patients as some literature has come out that the virus is no longer infectious after 10 days.
“We are studying and once we come to a conclusion (on this matter), protocols brought out will be implemented accordingly so that it brings confidence to the people of the state,” he said. According to him, it is also high time for all positive cases to come forward and self declare that they are positive in order to get rid of the virus and stigmatization.
