Nominations open for Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards 2023

The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat informed the general public that the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs has instituted an award called the Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards 2023 for meritorious human nature acts in saving the life of a person(s) from drowning, accident cases, fire accidents, electrocution, landslides, animal attack and rescue operation in mines etc.

The award is given in three categories, that is, the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak for conspicuous courage in saving life under circumstances of every great danger to the life of the rescuer, the Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak for courage and promptitude in saving life under circumstances of great danger to the life of the rescuer and the Jeevan Raksha Padak for courage and promptitude in saving life under circumstances of grave bodily injury to the rescuer.

Interested persons/members of the Armed Forces, Police Force, and of recognized Fire Service etc. are also eligible for these awards provided the lifesaving is performed by them. The recommendations for the Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards 2023 can be sent through the password protected National Award Portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs, (URL: www.awards.gov.in) in online mode only, latest by the 30th of September 2023.
