Nongrim Hills contain area as 1 tests positive for COVID-19

The Dorbar Shnong of Nongrim Hills on Saturday said that it has contained the area where there is one case of COVID-19.

“Containment of the area is being done by the dorbar shnong just to prevent any movement of the people from that particular area till the formalities from the district administration and the health department is being completed,” headman of Nongrim Hills Bantylli L Narry said in a statement.

According to him, 349 people from 99 families are residing in the particular place.

His statement came as a reaction to allegations doing the rounds in social media that Nongrim Hills is under containment and that 3,000 people will be tested and screened.

Narry however said that there is no obstruction to vehicular or pedestrian movement in the locality. “Therefore, we appeal to all concerned to refrain from such posts that may cause panic to the general public in this time of crisis for we need to move ahead to bring back the good track of the state and the city in particular,” the headman stated.
