Nongthymmai SCC lift the 1st Division Cricket League of the Shillong Cricket Association

SHILLONG: Nongthymmai SCC defeated the Khalsa Warriors by 5 wickets in the Final Match of the 1st Division Cricket League 2019 organized by the Shillong Cricket Association at the SCA ground, Polo.

The toss was won by the Khalsa Warriors and they elected to bat first. The warriors managed to score 104 /10 in 27.4 overs. Tops scorer of the warriors was Sandeep Singh scoring 50 runs from 73 balls. Nongthymmai bowlers bowl well with Reuben Najiar taking 4wkts from 7.0 overs giving only 15 runs and Ranjit Rai taking 2 wkts from 5.0 overs giving away only 17 runs.

Nongthymmai CC chased the total runs scored by the Warriors in just 19.5 overs with a score 105/5. As a result Nongthymmai CC won the match by 5 wkts. Bijay Deb was the top scorer with 34 runs off 31 balls followed by Rohit Chetri with 17 runs off 35 balls. Sawan Singh took 2 wkts from 5 overs giving away 19 runs and Ravi Singh took 2 wkts from 5.5 overs giving away 32 runs for the Khalsa Warriors.

Both the teams have qualified to play in the Super Division next year.
