Youth empowerment takes center stage: North East NSS Festival 2024 at Jaintia Eastern College
The North East NSS Festival 2024, held at Jaintia Eastern College in Khliehriat on May 1st, peaked with an enlightening program centered around Yuva Samvad, symbolizing “for the youth, by the youth, of the youth.”
Aligned with the Prime Minister’s Panch Prans (Five Resolves), the revamped Yuva Samvad initiative aimed to ignite constructive discussions on India’s future. These resolves encapsulate aspirations for a developed and rejuvenated India by 2047.
The day began with an extempore speech competition, showcasing students’ eloquence and critical thinking skills. Assistant Professor B. Papang set the tone for the Yuva Samvad event with a heartfelt welcoming speech, emphasizing the pivotal role of youth in shaping the nation’s trajectory.
As the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal, IAS, inspired attendees to pursue their dreams with determination, sharing personal anecdotes. The program concluded with awards presented to competition winners, honouring their exceptional work and talent.
Assistant Professor B. Dkhar expressed gratitude to all contributors, emphasizing the collective effort needed for societal progress. The festival embodied youth empowerment and national advancement, fostering dialogue, inspiration, and acknowledgment.
