North East NSS Festival 2024: Jaintia Eastern College welcomes participants from eight states

The North East NSS Festival 2024, hosted by Jaintia Eastern College, Khliehriat, welcomed 330 participants and 30 Programme Officers from all eight Northeastern states of India on April 29.

The five days festival will conclude on May 3.

Meghalaya Chief Secretary DP Wahlang, IAS inaugurated the festival and hoist the NSS flag in the college campus as chief guest.

During his address at the event, Wahlang emphasized the need for multifaceted learning, work-life balance and inclusive education. He urged NSS volunteers to infuse themselves with youthful enthusiasm to ensure a secure future. He encouraged active participation in all programs and assured the safety of participants at Jaintia Eastern College, Khliehriat.

The inaugural ceremony culminated with vote of thanks from Dr. P Nongtdu, Principal of Jaintia Eastern College, Khliehriat, and Member Secretary of the North East NSS Festival 2024, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants.

Special guest Abhilash Baranwal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya, also attended the event.
