SHILLONG: Whereas the seat of a member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council from 26-Langrin District Council Constituency had fallen vacant following the death of Shri Nassar Marwein, the Government of Meghalaya has notified the bye-elections to the aforesaid constituency of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council as per schedule below. This was informed by the Deputy Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, District Council Affairs Department.

Publication of draft Electoral Roll is on 28.1.2020, last date for filing claims and objections is 12.2.2020, disposal of claims & objections is 13.2.2020 and publication of final electoral roll is on 15.2.2020.

Date for calling the constituency to elect the representative to fill the vacancy is on 17.2.2020, last date for filing nomination is on 19.2.2020 before 3:00 PM, date of scrutiny of nomination papers is on 19.2.2020 after 3:00 PM, last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is on 20.2.2020, date of finalization and publication of valid nomination and allocation of symbol is on 22.2.2020. The date of poll is on 28.2.2020 from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and date of counting is on 3.3.2020.
