NPP fighting alone, no question of understanding with BJP: Prestone
The National People’s Party national vice president Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday said there is no understanding with the BJP and other political parties for the upcoming Assembly elections.
The deputy chief minister said that the BJP leadership from Delhi have been attacking the NPP in its election campaigns across the state while reacting to the allegation of Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi that the BJP and NPP are staging a political drama by attacking each other.
He said the Congress leader may say that both the parties are having a secret deal or mutual understanding for this coming general elections but the fact is that there is no such kind of an arrangement.
“Very frankly we don’t have any kind of arrangement, we don’t have any understanding with the BJP or with any other political parties,” Tynsong added.
The deputy chief minister said the NPP is fighting the elections alone. He also appealed to the citizens of the state to ensure history repeats itself by giving full mandate to the NPP.
“We are going to form the government on our own. We will cross the required number… I am very sure the people of the state will also realize this because now almost after 50 years, no political party alone can cross the required number except in the year 1972. I would to request and appeal to the voters of the state this time we need to go back to the history we repeat it for stability and also to be able the new political party who will take over the government to complete and accomplish those agendas and those pending issues which are lying before us,” he said.
On the BJP’s promise to investigate all cases of corruption against the MDA government, Tynsong said, “What special task force (is the BJP talking about)? Let me tell you we are ready, be it CBI, be it ED. We are ready to do that. See just to make a mere allegation against anybody that is not the end of the story. If you can substantiate your allegations, it is very easy to hand them over to the agencies. Independent agencies are there and from our side we are ready to do that.”
He further informed that every year, the CAG reports are being laid on the floor of the House where all members get the copy and from the state government through the assembly secretariat they referred these issues to the PAC.
Tynsong also maintained that the NPP will take up the allegations made by the other political parties very seriously after taking over the next government.
Tynsong also questioned the BJP and other coalition partners for keeping silent against the alleged corruption for the past four years and said all these allegations are just political games to woo voters.
