Limanunksung Longkumer, General Secretary, Tohovi Achumi, General Secretary- IPR & Media, Deo Nukhu, SEC Advisor, Nickey Nongkhlaw, NPYF National Working President, Yanghuri Sangtam, NPYF President amongst other members.
The event saw the induction of fresh members into the Nagaland State Executive Committee headed by Dr Andrew Ahoto.
Dr Andrew Ahuto, President of NPP Nagaland State Unit in the meeting, made a clarion call to the newly inducted members of the SEC at the State Executive Meeting held in Nagaland on 4th September 2021. Stating his vision for NPP in the state will be driven by action, he encouraged his NPP comrades to lead the people by example. “The time has come to pave the way for transformation and change.” he states.
Dr Ahuto called upon the citizens to be trendsetters, asking them if they want to be exemplified by the sole act of receiving and giving nothing in return. He questions, “Are we the Dead Sea? Not giving to others, becoming stagnant? Or do we lead by example, making the best out of their blessings while being of a giving and responsible nature?” The NPP must work its way towards moulding itself into a political organization that has the best interests of the people in mind, to strive hard and lead with wisdom and a clean conscience.
While addressing the gathering, James P. K Sangma emphasized the need to be united in serving the interests of the people of Nagaland and Northeast as a whole. He is of the firm opinion that Dr. Andrew Ahuto is a capable leader, one who has been associated with the party for a long time. He deserves nothing short of the people and party’s undying support. His leadership will lead the NPP to new heights and bring about necessary changes in the state of Nagaland.
He also stated the people of Northeast have been endowed with great potential. A prime example of this is the successful formation of NPP as a national party at a record pace. The NPP has achieved what no other national party could in such a short time. Naturally, only a leader equally capable and possessing an understanding of what the party stands for will have the capability to pave the way for the future. Dr Andrew Ahuto Sema is the rightful candidate to take up the responsibility of leading the party and the people of Nagaland in the right direction.
James P. K. Sangma further made an earnest appeal to Dr Andrew and everyone present at the meeting to be united and work towards serving a greater purpose and the people of Nagaland. To be the voice of the people. The party itself should be fashioned on the foundations of unity before it encourages and asks of others to practice the same, because ‘charity begins at home’.
He also addressed key matters during the press conference. The forthcoming elections are only one and a half years away. The people of Nagaland need a platform where they can voice their concerns. James Sangma is confident that the NPP will provide the people of Nagaland their much-needed representative voice.
Tohovi Achumi, General Secretary of IPR and Media has confidently stated that NPP will be the better political organization that will adequately address and resolve the concerns of the people of Nagaland.
Dr Andrew Ahuto is hopeful of the changes and reformations the NPP will bring about for his people and state, saying that “When we come to power there will only be solution and solution.”
