NPP terms Congress allegation over building permission as false, baseless
National People’s Party (NPP) national president and Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday hit back at the Congress for making false allegations and said necessary permissions have been obtained for construction of the party office here.
“The bottom line of the entire thing is that these are all false allegations and all the necessary permissions have been obtained and all necessary provisions were complied with,” Sangma told reporters.

He said such allegations are completely baseless and also another effort by the opposition to try and just create issues out of non-issues.
According to him, the party had received the provisional building permission on December 22, 2020 and based on which it decided to start the construction.

“The provisional building permission that was given based on that we are allowed to start. Once the design was seen the department had asked for clarification from the party and hence the clarification was submitted and after that there was no communication from the department,” he maintained.

On Thursday, the Congress had alleged that the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) was failing to obtain building permission for construction of its new party office.
