NPP too busy bringing development, no time to talk about opp baseless allegations: Tynsong
National People’s Party (NPP) state president and deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday said the NPP-led MDA government is too busy with bringing development for the benefit of the state and the people and has no time to waste talking about opposition political parties and their baseless allegations.
He was addressing an election campaign at Umwang Them in Ri Bhoi district to drum up support for the party candidate from Nongpoh and former MDC Rona Khymdeit.
Tynsong said the NPP-led government is being targeted because of its achievements.
“We are a government that serves the people to the best of our abilities.”
Urging the people not to believe the lies of the opposition, Tynsong said, “They alleged that the NPP is corrupt and is a party of the high level but they don’t dare to take legal action because they cannot substantiate their allegations. Why are they afraid to file a case if their allegations are true? Therefore, it is meaningless to just make an allegation without any proof.”
Further, Tynsong said that the NPP-led government has come up with various important policies during the past eight years which are benefiting the people of the state which include farmers, daily wage earners, drivers and others.
He also informed that the government would soon set up an Apex Cooperative Society to further support the cooperative societies and self help groups adding this will to a great extent help in providing job opportunities to the people of the state.
Appealing to the people to vote for Khymdeit, Tynsong said, “Khymdeit is working closely with the government for bringing development to the constituency. If she is elected, we assure that the constituency will benefit in terms of all round development.”
Also, the deputy chief minister informed that the government has earmarked Rs 100 crore and has issued a work order for the construction of the Nongpoh-Umden to Sonapur road.
