NSCN(U) drops rebel leader N Kitovi Zhimomy from NNPG
Three days after his impeachment by the NSCN (U), GPRN/NSCN on Wednesday withdrew the assignment of N Kitovi Zhimomy, former Ato Kilonser (prime minister) of GPRN/ NSCN as the convenor of working committee of Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs).
Kitovi has been the convenor of Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) since 2016.
“As resolved in the National Assembly of GPRN/NSCN held on April 21, 2024, the undersigned hereby withdrew the assignment of N Kitovi Zhimomy former Ato Kilonser as representative of GPRN/NSCN to the working committee who was also convenor of working committee NNPGs with immediate effect,” Gen (retired) MB Neokpao Konyak said in a statement here on Wednesday.
On April 21, the GPRN/NSCN impeached Kitovi during an extraordinary emergency National Assembly at Tatar Hall, Naga Unification Camp, Khehoyi.
The Assembly also unanimously elected Alezo Venuh as the general secretary of the NSCN and Ato Kilonser of the GPRN.
The declaration of the assembly stated N Kitovi Zhimomy had willfully violated Article 18 of the National Yehzabo (Constitution) and party discipline section-A and party discipline section-C clause-4.
N Kitovi Zhomomy is a veteran Naga rebel leader who joined the Naga movement in the early 1980s. He was a personal secretary to Isak Chishi Swu before the split of the NSCN in 1988.
After the split, Kitovi remained loyal to SS Khapland who had become the chairman of NSCN(K).
