OM Roy Memorial HSS lift the Inter School Futsal Competition
SHILLONG: The Under 13 (Boys) Inter School Futsal Competition organised by Futsal Association of Meghalaya (FAM) concluded on Saturday at the Laban Indoor Stadium.
The finals were graced by Daniel Dann, District Sports Officer, East Khasi Hills District as the Chief Guest along with the prolific Indian Super League Player Redeem Tlang of North-East United as the guest of honour.
The DSO, in his inaugural address commented on the initiative of FAM in organising a grass root level competition, as this, at the Under-13 level for the school children. He justified on the importance of Futsal as a basic training platform to be a well adept football player and urged the players to take the game seriously.
Redeem Tlang on his part made it a point to the young emerging players to be discipline in their game as this same disciple itself will be a boon for their future career.
The finals was a hard fought match played between OM Roy Memorial Higher Secondary School against H. Elias Memorial Higher Secondary School where OM Roy School came back from three goals down to win the match eventually with a score line of 4-3 at the dying moments of the match. The player of the tournament went to Mr. Wanshwadame Diengdoh of OM Roy Memorial School.
