One died, 3 new COVID-19 cases detected in Meghalaya
A 41-year-old man died after tested positive for COVID-19, taking the death toll in the state to 150 on Thursday.
Desking Rangslang, a resident of Mawdiangdiang was admitted to Shillong civil hospital on March 23 and tested positive for COVID-19, Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War informed.
“He passed away on March 24 due to Covid-19 pneumonia, ARDS with sepsis, ARI, cellulitis,” he said.
The state has recorded three new COVID-19 cases and one recovery from the viral infection on Thursday.
Dr War said that the new cases include 2 from East Khasi Hills district and 1 from Ri Bhoi district.
So far, the state has detected a total of 14,022 COVID-19 cases out of which 23 are active cases, 13,849 recovered and 150 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has 19 active cases and Ri Bhoi 4.
On the other hand, of the 3,96,300 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,82,278 were tested negative for the virus even as 5 persons are in institutional quarantine and 18 under home quarantine.
There are 97,486 entrants from outside the state.
