One freezes to death in East Jaintia Hills District

In a tragic incident, one unidentified male person between 60 to 70 years froze to death on the intervening night of January 3-4 this year in East Jaintia Hills District.

Police said that the deceased was seen loitering around in Saipung and Bamkhowsngi border area of East Jaintia Hills District.

Police said that the deceased was however found dead in Saipung and Bamkhowsngi border area on footpath side.

Police said they were informed by the Headman of Bamkhowsngi village regarding the spotting of the body in the said areas.

Police suspect that deceased died due to the cold winter while adding that inquest and autopsy has been conducted at Khliehriat Civil hospital. The corpse kept at Khliehriat Civil Hospital morgue room, for identification and claim.

Police said the deceased is 5 feet tall, with an oval face and swarthy complexion, seperated eyebrows and black hair. The deceased wores White T-shirt, blue pant, brown and blue tracksuit, grey sock with blue stripes.
