One more dies of COVID-19, 155 new cases detected in Meghalaya
The state has recorded one death and 155 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said that one died of COVID-19 taking the death toll to 158 in the state.
Dr War said the new cases include 115 in East Khasi Hills district, 11 in Ri Bhoi district, 9 in West Jaintia Hills district, 8 in East Jaintia Hills district, 7 in West Garo Hills district, 2 each in West Khasi Hills district and South West Khasi Hills district and 1 in South West Garo Hills district.
He informed that as many as 148 patients have also recovered from the viral infection of which 113 are from East Khasi Hills district, 26 from West Jaintia Hills district, 4 each in West Khasi Hills district and Ri Bhoi district and 1 in East Jaintia Hills district.
So far, the state has detected a total of 15,786 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,244 are active cases, 14,384 recovered and 158 deaths.
East Khasi Hills is the worst affected district in the state with 895 active cases followed by Ri Bhoi district with 124 cases and West Jaintia Hills with 115 cases.
There are 39 cases in East Jaintia Hills, 26 in West Khasi Hills, 29 in West Garo Hills, 12 in South West Khasi Hills, 1 in South Garo Hills, 1 South West Garo Hills, 1 in East Garo Hills, and 1 in North Garo Hills.
On the other hand, of the 4,47,985 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 4,32,199 were tested negative for the virus even as 230 persons are in institutional quarantine and 1,014 under home quarantine.
There are 1,10,256 entrants from outside the state.
