One person murdered by 5 miscreants amidst National Lockdown

The ongoing battle against the pandemic COVID-19 did not deter the motive of a gang of five miscreants from carrying out their henious act in East Jaintia Hills District.

According to police, on Monday’s evening around five criminals namely Thos Lyngdoh,  Baian Lyngdoh, Biang Lyngdoh, Toning Lyngdoh and Hap Lyngdoh committed Dacoity and murdered one person (L) Kumno Sukhlain at a place known as Wah Tyra under Daistong village.

The prime accused person named Biang Lyngdoh was arrested by Saipung police with the help of the villagers. While efforts are being made to arrest the other co-accused persons.

From the possession of the arrested accused a Dao (weapon of crime) and one SBBL gun which was looted from the victim were recovered.

In this connection a cognisable case has been registered in Saipung PS vide Saipung PS case No.2 (4) 2020 under sections punishable for Murder, Dacoity and Murder, Disobedience to Order duly promulgated by Public Servant, Negligence act likely to spread disease dangerous to life, Malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life, Punishment for illegal possession of fire arm and – Refusal to comply with direction given by the Government.
