    One youth was killed while two others were seriously injured after they were attacked by local people of Syntung Village of suspicious of being menshohnoh.

    According to police, a group of nine youths from Madanrting went to Syntung village for picnics on Sunday.

    On suspicious of being menshohnoh or witchcraft on the villagers thinking them to be Menshohnoh, assaulted them, and one among them succumb to his injuries.

    He was identified as Macmillan Kharshandy son of R Kharshandy of Madanrting, Lumbasuk and two of his friends received head injury namely Ricky Dkhar (26) son of D Dkhar of Lumjingsuk, Madanrting and Teiborlang kharbyngar (25) son of late Kordor Nongkynrih of Madanrting.

    According to police, out of the nine youth one was killed and five managed to escape while three others are still hiding in the jungle out of fear.

    A strong police team was rushed to Syntung to control the situation to rescue the youths.
