ONGC Assam Asset bags two mines safety awards
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Assam Asset bagged two coveted awards at Mines Safety Award (MSA) 2024, held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata on July 28.
The prestigious event, organized by the All India Mines Safety Association (AIMSA) under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), aimed to promote best practices and enhance safety standards in mining operations across India.
In the Oil Mines-Medium category, Assam Asset’s Rudrasagar Production Oil Mine received the first prize, while the Lakwa Production Oil Mine secured the second prize.
DG, DGMS Prabhat Kumar and Coal India Limited chairman PM Prasad presented the awards to the Assam Asset team in the presence of ONGC’s Director (Production) Pankaj Kumar.
The awards were received by ED-Asset Manager Rajesh Tiwary, GGM-Surface Manager Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem, CGM-ASM/Head-AHSE Gautam Das, CE-IM-GGS2, RDS Deepak Kumar Mishra, RE, Lakwa GGS1 Nilesh Gaikwad and Technician (Production), WMI Manash Jyoti Borthakur.
“The recognition highlights Assam Asset’s continuous efforts to implement best practices and maintain high safety standards in its operations,” a spokesperson of the oil company said.
Representatives from the oil and gas, coal, and metal sectors participated in this prestigious event. A total of 45 award-winning mines were recognized across various categories, including oil and gas, underground coal, opencast coal, underground metal, and opencast metal.
The Mines Safety Awards (MSA) 2024 promises to be a significant milestone in promoting a culture of safety within the mining industry, encouraging all stakeholders to strive for excellence in their safety practices.
